Toyota recently introduced PLUS, a new available performance package option for the 2011 Prius. First debuted at the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, the Prius PLUS features sporty components manufactured by Toyota’s TRD performance division.

PLUS is an evolution of the hybrid sedan, seamlessly melding fuel-efficiency with aggressive styling and high performance handling.

Available only in limited quantities, the PLUS package includes:

• Four paint options: Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Black, Winter Gray Metallic
• Seven-piece aerodynamic ground effects kit for lower-profile stance and lower coefficient of drag. Kit includes: front and rear bumper spoilers, sleek side skirts and a rear diffuser
• Race-inspired, lightweight, five-spoke 17-inch forged alloy wheels with low profile 215/45R17 tires and a wider offset to reduce unsprung weight and enhance handling characteristics while maintaining low rolling resistance. 
• Track-tuned springs lower the Prius 1.1 inches in front and 1.3 inches in rear to improve turn-in, steering response and cornering.
• Tuned rear sway bar made of high carbon spring steel to reduce body roll for more driver control and nimble cornering.
• Custom badging and exclusive limited-edition PLUS logo carpet floor mats.

Available as an add-on to all 2011 Prius models, pricing for the PLUS Performance Package is $3,699 for Prius Two, Three and Four models and $2,999 for Prius Five.
