2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser Changes

2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser

Since its introduction in 2006, the Toyota FJ Cruiser has successfully blended retro styling with modern technology and off-road capability. It’s a combination that not only makes for a rugged, durable and comfortable machine eager to explore the furthest reaches of Earth, but its design also pays homage to the original off-road legend; the Toyota Land Cruiser FJ-40.

For 2011, Toyota is introducing a few new changes for the FJ Cruiser, including:

  • A Trail Teams Special Edition in Army Green
  • New standard audio system and optional JBL Premium sound system
  • Standard locking rear differential
  • Improved visibility and rear seat access
  • Standard iPod® connectivity and XM Satellite Radio

The Trail Teams Special Edition FJ Cruiser will not only come clad on the outside in Army Green, but the interior will feature special green fabric seating and interior trim along with the standard Off-Road Package.

The new standard audio system includes a six-speaker AM/FM CD player unit with MP3 capability, XM Radio (with a free 90-day trial), auxiliary audio, USB and iPod connectivity as well as hands-free phone capability and music streaming through Bluetooth® technology. And for added ease of use, the audio system and Bluetooth can be controlled by the steering wheel.

Every Trail Teams Special Edition receives a premium,  JBL 10-speaker system as standard equipment, but is available as an option on all FJ Cruiser models.

For owners who use their FJ Cruiser for serious off-road duty, 2011 is the first year that all six-speed manual FJ Cruisers will come standard with an electric locking rear differential (optional on automatics).

The 2011 FJ Cruiser also offers improved passenger side walk-in access by featuring a passenger front seat that folds further forward. Rear seat headrests are foldable to help improve rearward visibility.

Although the 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser offers far more luxury and modern technology than the classic FJ-40, they both share the same rugged heritage and off-road capability that makes them worthy of being called an FJ-series Land Cruiser.
