The fuel efficiency and eco-friendly characteristics of a Toyota with Hybrid Synergy Drive have made the original Prius the most successful hybrid vehicle in history. But for some buyers, the venerable Prius has held a starting price just outside their range – until now.
With the introduction of the all-new 2012 Toyota Prius c – a sharp looking five-door sub-compact hatchback with superior maneuverability weighing a mere 2600 pounds – buyers can now have all the fuel efficiency and eco-friendly benefits of a Toyota hybrid for around $19,000. Along with the Prius Plug-In and the 2012 Prius V, the 2012 Prius c represents another valuable addition to the Prius family.
Boasting the highest rated city fuel economy rating of any vehicle that doesn’t plug into an electrical outlet (53 mpg city/46 mpg highway), the 2012 Prius c represents a remarkable blend of style, technology, fuel efficiency and value. Easy to maneuver in any tight situations while still offering seating for five and the added cargo convenience of a hatchback, the 2012 Prius c makes for an ideal city vehicle.
Available in four trim levels (ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR), the 2012 Prius c will fit a wide range of budgets and tastes. From generous standard features in the Prius c ONE like auto climate control, remote keyless entry, multi-information display, Bluetooth hands-free phone and iPod connectivity, to advanced features in the Prius c FOUR like heated front seats, power moonroof, Display Audio system with navigation and Entune, the Prius c promises to deliver as much technology and convenience as it does value.
Regardless of trim level, all 2012 Prius c models are powered by a highly efficient Hybrid Synergy Drive 1.5-liter DOHC, 16-valve engine with intelligent variable valve timing (VVT-i) and a permanent magnet AC motor good for 60 hp mated to a 144 volt nickel-metal hydride battery generating 25.9 horsepower for total output of 99 horsepower.
Like every Toyota, the 2012 Prius c is designed with safety in mind, featuring nine standard airbags and the Toyota Star Safety System that includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST).
The 2012 Prius c will begin arriving at Acton Toyota in March 2012. So if you’re in the market for the most fuel-efficient non-plug-in vehicle in America, contact us so you can be at the dealership and get behind the wheel when the very first Prius c models arrive!

Nearly 60 years after its introduction as a rough, rugged, go-anywhere 4x4, the Toyota Land Cruiser has matured into one of the most opulent, luxurious and well-equipped SUVs money can buy. But don’t let its leather and wood grain interior or its chrome-clad exterior fool you into thinking the Land Cruiser has lost its off-road chops. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser still sports a traditional body-on-frame construction and receives numerous improvements including features that keep it ahead of the competition when the road turns rough. A new Multi-Terrain Select system with settings for mud, sand and rocks controls wheel slip based for optimal traction, and the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) features auto-disengaging anti-roll bars for optimum suspension articulation.
An updated CRAWL Control system lets the driver choose one of five speeds for off-road driving, and CRAWL maintains that gear so the driver can fully focus on negotiating steep inclines, descents, obstacles and rugged terrain. A new Off-Road Turn Assist feature applies braking force to help the Land Cruiser make sharper turns when driving off-road.
To maintain visibility in all directions so rogue trees and boulders don’t find their way into any body panels, a new Multi-terrain Monitor displays multiple view angles of the exterior on the in-dash navigation system screen. It also comes in handy for those who spend most of their time negotiating crowded parking lots instead of rocky trails.
Despite all of these innovative off-road features, the 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser is still the pinnacle of SUV luxury. Voice-activated navigation with Bluetooth integration, rear-seat DVD entertainment, a center console cooler, heated and ventilated leather seating, Toyota Entune and Dynamic Cruise Control are just a few of the sophisticated and high-tech features the 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser offers.
Underneath it all is a brutally powerful 5.7-liter V8 that puts down 381 horsepower and 401 lb. ft. of torque through a buttery-smooth six-speed automatic en route to a sports car-like 6.5 second 0-60 time. And of course, what would the Land Cruiser be without its remarkable reliability and durability that outperforms every single one of its luxury SUV competitors.
The 2013 Toyota Land Cruiser will start arriving at Acton Toyota sometime in February. If you’d like to be one of the first to test drive this legendary SUV, contact us today and we will set you up as soon as they roll onto our lot.

MR2, Corolla, Celica, Supra – Toyota has a storied lineage of offering incredible and exhilarating sports cars in the United States. But since the Celica went out of production in 2006, the Toyota family of vehicles has lacked a sports car for driving enthusiasts – until now.
Launching in 2012 under the Scion brand, the 2013 FR-S (Front-engine, Rear-wheel-drive, Sport) is a joint venture between Toyota and Subaru to build a lightweight, perfectly balanced, rear-wheel-drive sports car that harkens back to the days of the legendary AE86 “Hachi-Roku” Corolla.
Tipping the scales at a mere 2,800 pounds, the 2013 FR-S will feature a 2.0-liter, normally aspirated flat-four engine that puts out a robust 200 horsepower to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. This kind of a combination makes driving enthusiasts salivate, and early test reports from magazines such as Motor Trend and Inside Line are already praising the pre-production models for their scalpel-like precision, six-second 0-60 acceleration and cat-like reflexes in the corners.
This outstanding athleticism can be partly credited to the flat four-cylinder, horizontally opposed engine that sits low in the engine bay – a design similar to sports car icons like the Porsche Boxter and Cayman – giving the FR-S an incredibly low and stable center of gravity.
Not only is the FR-S lightweight, but it also has an incredibly low coefficient of drag at only 0.27. By comparison, the most fuel-efficient car on the road today, the Toyota Prius, has a 0.25 Cd. The slippery design of the FR-S combined with its weight will ensure that this new Scion will deliver outstanding fuel efficiency.
And perhaps the best part about the 2012 Scion FR-S is that this true, high-performance sports car will be available at a base price starting under $25,000.
So naturally the question everyone is asking is “when will it be available?” Expect the Scion FR-S to arrive here at Acton Toyota and Scion in Spring of 2012. Contact us if you want to be kept updated on the official release date of one of the most exhilarating Toyota-developed Scion models in years!

It began as all innocent little jaunts that turn tragic begin – Clifton Vial, 52, of Nome, Alaska, took his 2000 Toyota Tacoma for an evening drive in sub-zero temperatures with no provisions, no tools and a nearly empty tank of gas.
40 miles north of town, Vial accidentally hit a snowdrift that enveloped his trusty Tacoma. With nothing more than tennis shoes and a $30 Sears jacket, trying to dig himself out with the mercury plummeting to -17 Fahrenheit would have surely meant frostbite.
With no cell phone coverage, Vial waited. And he waited. And he waited some more. Even in temperatures that would render most other trucks useless, the trusty Tacoma always started, giving Vial the heat he needed to keep from freezing solid.
He would only run the engine once in a while, but after three days in the Tacoma, the tank was nearly empty. He knew better than to venture out unprepared, as he usually carries extra gasoline, food, water and survival gear at all times. But not this time.
All he had to consume for three days was an unlimited supply of snow and two frozen cans of Coors Light. Vial cut the lids off the cans and dug the slush out with a knife, providing him with just enough fuel to get him through the 60-hour ordeal.
Three days after his Tacoma crashed into the snowdrift, rescuers found Vial and the truck. Although malnutritioned and tired, Vial suffered no frostbite thanks in part to the Tacoma and its ability to start despite being buried in snow with sub-zero temperatures that would overwhelm lesser trucks.
Although New England winters aren’t nearly as extreme as Alaska, having a new or pre-owned Toyota Tacoma from Acton Toyota will help make those cold, snowy days a little bit easier to endure.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently released its first crash test results under the more stringent 2012 model year crash test guidelines, and the 2012 Toyota Camry was one of only three cars to receive a five-star overall safety rating.
The more stringent guidelines use a wider range of dummies to better simulate occupants of all sizes and new side pole test simulates a car sliding sideways at 20 mph into a post or tree, uncovering potential weaknesses that the conventional barrier test cannot. Since side impacts are more likely to cause injury and fatality than frontal crashes, the new side pole test is an extremely important safety test.
The 2012 Toyota Camry received a four-star Frontal Crash rating, a five-star Side Crash rating and a four-star rollover rating for an overall vehicle score of five stars.
The outstanding safety performance of the new 2012 Toyota Camry and the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid is just one of many reasons why you should consider the Camry for your next new family vehicle. Contact Acton Toyota today, schedule a test drive and discover all the other reasons why the Camry remains one of the best-selling cars in America.

For the second time in three years, the Toyota brand has secured the Kelly Blue Book 2012 Best Resale Value Award for its outstanding blend of quality, dependability and reliability. The luxury arm of Toyota, Lexus, won Best Resale Value for all Luxury Brands.
Although most new car buyers always consider price as the most important decision factor, more important is thinking five years down the road. Depreciation is often one of the biggest expenses new car buyers face during their course of ownership, and spending less on a car now might end up costing more in the long run. That’s why it’s so important to choose an automotive brand that retains its resale value better than any other.
When you manufacture the best-selling car in America – the Toyota Camry – as well as the best-selling car in the history of the world – the Toyota Corolla – you learn a few things about how to build a reliable, durable and safe machine that holds up to the rigors of daily life. And not only does this equate to a higher resale value, but the outstanding reliability of Toyota vehicles also means lower maintenance costs over time.
So if you’ve been considering other brands besides Toyota for your next new car, just keep resale value in mind. And to get a better idea of how well Toyotas hold their value over time, check out the current Acton Toyota Certified Pre-owned inventory.

Although the entire lineup of Toyota family sedans, sport utilities and compact cars are among the most reliable, safe, and fuel efficient vehicles on the road today, there are three all-new Toyota models for 2012 that really stand out, making them “must drive” vehicles.
2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid
An all-new design for 2012, the Toyota Camry Hybrid is not only 26 percent more fuel efficient that the previous generation Camry Hybrid, but it’s also the most fuel efficient family sedan in its class. Returning 43 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 41 mpg combined, the Camry Hybrid sips fuel while still boasting a total output of 200 hp between its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the legendary Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive system made famous on the iconic Toyota Prius.
The seamless transition from electric to gasoline power in the Camry Hybrid is almost undetectable, making you forget you’re driving a vehicle with two different propulsion systems. At stoplights, the Camry Hybrid is silent, as the gasoline motor shuts off, and during initial acceleration, the Camry Hybrid is all electric – an addicting sensation unlike any gasoline-powered vehicle.
If you’ve never driven a hybrid before, make your first experience either a Toyota Camry Hybrid or the next “must drive” car on our list.
2012 Toyota Prius V
The V stands for “versatility”, and the legendary Toyota Prius adds a new member to its hybrid family. The 2012 Toyota Prius V is perfect for growing families who need up to 60 percent more cargo space yet still want to drive one of the most fuel efficient cars in America. How fuel efficient? The EPA rates the 2012 Prius V at 44 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 42 mpg combined.
Because of its larger size, the Prius V has a stable and composed feel on the freeway, but still retains the same nimble characteristics of the traditional Prius with refined electric steering that helps navigating through cramped parking lots a breeze.
And like the original Prius, the Prius V includes advanced technology that’s also quite functional. Features like adaptive cruise control, an automated parallel-parking system and a pre-collision safety system make driving more enjoyable and safer.
Quite simply, there’s no other vehicle on the road today besides the 2012 Prius V that can deliver the same amount of eco-friendly technology, 40+ mpg performance and 34 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. That’s why the 2012 Prius V is a “must drive” on our list.
2012 Toyota Yaris
Completely redesigned for 2012, the Toyota Yaris represents the ultimate in a budget-conscious, value-packed compact car that delivers features and driving manners more substantial than its dimensions would indicate.
The Yaris has grown almost two inches in wheelbase and three inches in total body length which has not only improved the ride quality of the Yaris, but has opened up cabin and cargo space. The three-door hatchback offers 15.3 cubic feet of space with rear seats up, a 64 percent improvement over the previous generation Yaris. Although it’s grown a bit, the Yaris still remains a compact car that maneuvers through huge cities with ease and can fit in to virtually any parking space.
Another big change for the Yaris is the instrument cluster, which used to be located dead center in the dashboard above the stereo controls. For 2012, the Yaris features a more traditional and attractive instrument cluster in front of the steering wheel with stereo and HVAC controls found in the center stack.
But what makes the Yaris a “must drive” is the way this lightweight 2,300-pound car strikes a balance between a zippy compact and an economical fuel miser. With its small-yet-sprite 1.5-liter four-cylinder pumping out 106 hp through the front wheels, the 2012 Yaris returns as much as 38 mpg highway and 30 mpg city.
All three of these machines represent the continued Toyota commitment to safety, quality, value and fuel efficiency. So stop by Acton Toyota today and get behind the wheel of one or all of these new, “must drive” Toyota models. You’ll be glad you did.

In late September, Acton Toyota received the first, all-new 2012 Toyota Camry on our dealership lot. Every square inch of the 2012 Camry has been redesigned and enhanced, and that includes the much-anticipated 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Boasting a total of 200 hp between the 2.5-liter, four-cylinder that puts out 156 hp and the most advanced hybrid drive system available – Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive – the 2012 Camry Hybrid returns a remarkable 43 mpg city, 39 mpg highway and 41 mpg combined. Not only are these fuel economy figures as much as 26 percent greater than the previous generation Camry Hybrid, but when it comes to sipping fuel, the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid also outperforms every other hybrid family sedan in its class.
The 2012 Camry Hybrid has trimmed 130 pounds of weight over its predecessor, helping improve fuel economy as well as handling. But just because it’s lighter, don’t think the redesigned Camry is any smaller – quite the contrary, in fact.
The 2012 Camry Hybrid has gained 2.1 cubic feet of trunk space for a total of 13.1 cubic feet. And thanks to a slightly wider body, longer wheelbase and thinner, more ergonomic interior panels, the Camry Hybrid has gained headroom, legroom and hiproom for a spacious cabin with outstanding outward visibility in all directions.
The suspension has also been redesigned to deliver a tighter, more responsive ride for those seeking some athleticism out of their family sedan. The electric steering system has a naturally weighted feel and the regenerative braking system not only helps improve fuel economy, but it feels exactly like a well-designed traditional braking system.
The Entune Infotainment System found on the 2012 Camry Hybrid is one of the most advanced infotainment systems found on any new car in any price range. Featuring wirelessly-updated, application-driven services like Bing search engine, movietickets.com and Pandora streaming radio, Entune provides simple, seamless functionality to make life easier and more convenient, and is compatible with almost every smartphone including the Android and iPhone.
Entune also serves as an effective safety device, integrating with Toyota Safety Connect for help if your Camry is ever stolen, you need roadside assistance or you witness an emergency situation. And if your Camry is involved in an accident, an automatic collision notification system communicates with emergency services to send help right away.
If all of these outstanding features of the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid aren’t enough, through January 3, 2012, if you purchase a 2012 Camry or Camry Hybrid, Toyota will include free of charge a total of 5 years of 24/7 roadside assistance.
But ultimately, driving is believing, so contact Acton Toyota today by email at sales@actontoyota.com or phone at (888)-393-6322 and schedule a test drive one of America’s most fuel efficient and technologically advanced family sedans. We look forward to seeing you!
