Redesigned 2013 Avalon
Toyota is back – with a vengeance – with the 2013 Avalon, a bumper-to-bumper reworking that completely redefines the familiar mid-size sedan for a new generation of drivers.

The new Avalon, available at Acton Toyota, combines passionate styling, technological innovation and fine craftsmanship to redefine the familiar mid-size sedan.

It represents a dramatic styling departure from previous models, from the elegant, athletic exterior redesign that communicates a greater sense of performance and agility through its longer, flowing roofline and fluid body side design, to an all-new interior shaped by Calty Design Research of California that combines sculpted surfaces and high craftsmanship with the latest available technology to create an intimate driver space and roomy passenger areas.

The new Avalon, according to its chief engineer, Randy Stephens, will show the market that Toyota has returned to leading the charge for great styling, great handling performance, and the highest and best level of technologies.

From the reshaped exterior with the industry-first Quadrabeam™ headlight cluster to the premium-finished interior with its hand-sewn soft-touch dash panels to the advanced technology options that include three-zone temperature controls, a display audio system with Bluetooth and split-screen capabilities, and safety enhancements including Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic alerts, the Avalon establishes a new design and product direction for future mid-size sedans.

And for the first time, the Avalon line will have a hybrid option, offering a modified version of the 2.5-liter Hybrid Synergy Drive that also powers the Camry Hybrid as an alternative to the standard all-aluminum 3.5-liter gasoline engine and six-speed automatic transmission setup.  The gasoline drivetrain is EPA-rated at 21 city/31 highway. The hybrid version, which weighs in at only 124 pounds more than the gasoline model thanks to careful structural weight management, is rated 40 city/39 highway, offering an amazing range of up to 680 miles on its 17-gallon fuel tank.

Even the battery placement has been optimized, with the 204-cell nickel metal-hydride hybrid battery thoughtfully mounted inside the luggage compartment and close to the rear seat to maximize luggage-compartment space.

Many less-visible engineering improvements have gone into enhancing the 2013 Avalon experience. The Avalon’s road-going character has been completely reinvented – a more rigid unibody; dramatically revised suspension tuning, with front Macpherson struts tuned to combine outstanding ride comfort with flat cornering and enhanced agility, and optimized electric rack-and-pinion power steering designed to improve feel and reduce engine-driven accessories to improve fuel economy. The steering column has both tilt and telescopic features, and the enhanced-grip steering wheel incorporates switches for audio, display, telephone and other control functions.

A mouth-watering array of advanced technologies completes the picture, with options that include a Premium Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Navigation system with DVD playback and split-screen capability that lets other audio or vehicle information be shown alongside the main navigation screen map; the Entune™ multimedia system that functions through a smartphone interface  and features real-time traffic, weather, fuel-price and stock reports, and safety technologies including blind-spot monitoring cameras, Rear Cross Traffic Alert sensors in the rear quarter panels, and Dynamic Radar Cruise  Control that uses a radar sensor to maintain speed and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front.

“The 2013 Avalon showcases Toyota car-building prowess and infuses the Avalon nameplate with new levels of  excitement, dynamic capability, and refinement,” said Bill Fay, Group Vice President and General Manager, Toyota Division. The new Avalon is a vastly enhanced product that utilizes Toyota’s best in-market car-building resources to produce this new world-class sedan, and makes a statement.

Acton Toyota Unveils New Website

Post image for Acton Toyota Unveils New Website

by Justin Brun on August 19, 2012

A 21 consecutive year recipient of Toyota’s President’s Award, Acton Toyota of Littleton is proud to unveil an entire new website on Dealer.com’s V9 platform. Website design, graphics, and copy were all done in-house by Acton Toyota’s own dealer-to-dealer digital marketing division, Dynamic Beacon.

“We’re extremely excited for this new website. Much thought, time, and energy, went into creating a site that, above all, was truly centered around the customer,” notes Justin Brun, Acton Toyota eCommerce Manager and Dynamic Beacon team member.

Brun adds, “We really feel we’ve built a site that makes it easier and quicker for the visitors to find what they’re looking for. So, whether you seek to schedule service, browse our inventory, or view manufacturer incentives and dealership promotions like new and used inventory specials, service coupons, and tire deals, it can all be done right on the homepage. We believe a good website is one that doesn’t require much searching.”

Beyond making the new website easier to navigate, Acton Toyota added a significant amount of Toyota specific information to assist those considering a Toyota as well as those who already own one. For example, the Toyota ebrochures and Toyota’s scheduled maintenance intervals for every model can be found on our new site.

“Another focus in this new site construction was to really provide the web visitor a sense of who we are, how we conduct business, and our commitment to customer service,” notes Ben Koller, Acton Toyota Manager and Dynamic Beacon team member. Koller continues, “To accomplish this, we built pages surrounding our unique dealership amenities like the Acton Café, our sales experience and the Acton Sales Pledge, and our charitable contributions like the Acton Toyota of Littleton Scholarship.”

“Whether in-store or online, our goal is to always improve the purchase and ownership experience we provide our valued customers. We believe this new website certainly does just that. However, we welcome any and all comments and suggestions from our valued customers,” states Mike Hills, Acton Toyota General Manager.
